October 23.2025
On October 16, the QS Day Forum 2025 was successfully held in Petaling Jaya, jointly organized by Glodon Malaysia and the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM). The forum brought together over 120 participants from across the quantity surveying community — including professionals, educators, and industry leaders.
Under the theme “Innovating, Connecting, Advancing with SMM3,” the event went beyond slogan — it showcased how new standards, digital tools, and collaboration are driving Malaysia’s QS profession toward a smarter, more connected future.

A Step Forward for the QS Profession
This year’s forum marked a major milestone — not only was it the first-ever collaboration between Glodon Malaysia and RISM, but it also underscored a shared vision: to modernize QS practice through digital innovation and standardization.
During the event, Glodon Malaysia proudly announced that Cubicost is now embedded with SMM3, a key development that enables QS professionals to achieve greater consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in measurement and cost management.

Empowering the QS Profession through Digital Innovation
In the opening session, Joyce Chan, Country Director of Glodon Malaysia, welcomed all participants and emphasized that QS professionals today are not only responsible for measurement but also play a vital role in driving technological transformation.

Next, Sr. Dr. Syed Abdul Haris Syed Mustapa, Chair of RISM’s SMM3 Task Force, delivered an eye-opening introduction to SMM3. He highlighted that SMM3 is more than a technical standard — it is a common digital language that enhances consistency, transparency, and collaboration, aligning Malaysia’s QS industry with global best practices.

To bring the vision to life, Ts. Sam, Kor, and Eric from Glodon conducted a live demonstration of Cubicost embedded with SMM3, showing how Glodon solutions continues to evolve with local standards and industry needs, ensuring that technology grows hand-in-hand with Malaysia’s QS community.

Bringing real-world experience to the stage, Teh Jing Hieng, Project Manager at JQS International Sdn. Bhd., long-time Glodon Cubicost user for over five years, shared his inspiring digital transformation journey — from manual workflows to fully digital quantity surveying using Glodon Cubicost. His story showcased how technology can save time, reduce errors, and enhance transparency across projects.

Networking, Fun, and Forward Momentum
No Glodon event is complete without energy and excitement!
The day wrapped up with a lively networking session — featuring refreshments, a “Connection Card” game, and a lucky draw that had everyone smiling. Congratulations to all the lucky winners, and a big thank you to Sr Ts Masnizan, Vice Chair of the QS Division, for gracing the occasion.
